The Nevada Industrial Hemp Act created a framework for the state to license and regulate industrial hemp agriculture with the primary objective of producing income through licensing fees, as well as taxes on products containing hemp.
The NDA is in charge of hemp cultivators, producers, and handlers' licensing. Growers are not allowed to be convicted of a drug-related felony within five years of the application date. A grower is granted a license if they fulfill all of the necessary application criteria. This permit is valid through the year ending December 31.
Nevada is working on rules to meet the requirements of the 2018 Farm Bill. Growers must submit to a preliminary scan of the location where hemp is grown in the application's area and, after approval, must submit to a compliance inspection within 15 days of harvest to assess the crop for THC concentration. The current application fee for growers is $500 plus $5 per acre for outdoor operations, or $0.33 per 1,000 square feet of indoor operations. When the NDA approves the application, payments are required.

Otherwise, they risk criminal penalties for possession or more serious crimes.
